West Point, CA — A 290 acre prescribed burn near West Point is set to get underway.
One to two CAL Fire engines along with personnel from Sierra Pacific Industries will actually conduct a series of small burns at a site in the Lily Valley area over the coming weeks.
The 290 acre project is designed to treat bear clover, small conifers, brush and grass to help protect the communities of West Point, Wilseyville and Lily Valley. It should also help protect timber resources and the Mokelumne Watershed.
