A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada through 4pm today.
Snow levels begin around 5000 feet.
Total snow accumulations of four to eight inches should be expected above 5000 feet. One to two feet of snow is likely at 6000 feet and above.
Winds of up to 50 mph are gusting over the Sierra crest.
A stronger storm is expected to arrive Friday afternoon with heavy snowfall and much lower snow levels.
