Sacramento, CA – A superior court judge in San Francisco has ruled that Governor Schwarzenegger did not break any labor laws by cutting two paid holidays for state workers.
State employees will no longer receive paid days off on Lincoln’s Birthday and Columbus Day.
According to the Associated Press, the union that represents state attorneys and administrative judges had argued that the state could not enforce the cut because the terms of their expired contract remained in place. The union will likely now file an appeal.
With the loss of two, California workers will have 12 state paid holidays each year.
