Sacramento, CA — California’s non-partisan Legislative Analyst Mac Taylor feels that Governor Schwarzenegger’s budget proposal relies too heavily on unsecured federal funding.
The Governor is demanding that Washington, DC kick in $6.9 billion to the cause. Taylor writes in a report, “While it is reasonable to assume the state will secure some new federal funding and flexibility, the chances that the state will receive all what the Governor seeks from Washington are almost non-existent.”
Schwarzenegger released his budget proposal Friday and has called the Legislature into a special session to tackle the deficit.
