The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada through midnight on Friday.
One to four inches of snow is expected from 3500 through 8000 feet.
Steady winds of thirty-five to forty mph over the mountain passes could gust up to fifty mph.
Temperatures in the twenties above 5000 feet will translate to wind chills near zero late Friday.
Another storm is expected from Saturday night into Sunday, with more rain and mountain snow.
After a dry and mild start to next week, there is the potential for rain in the Motherlode and snow in the mountains on Wednesday and (Thanksgiving) Thursday.
