San Andreas, CA — CAL Fire has shifted to restricted burn hours.
Effective today, pile burning in the Tuolumne-Calaveras jurisdiction is only allowed from 7pm-8am. It is required to have a burn permit, and it must be a permissive burn day. CAL Fire reports that the cooler temperatures and higher humidity during the evening hours provides safer conditions for burning vegetation when creating 100 feet of defensible space. A pile can be no larger than 4 feet by 4 feet.
Suspension of all outdoor burning will go into effect on Friday, July 1st.
