The National Weather Service has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Calaveras County through 7:45 a.m. Friday.
Periods of moderate to heavy rain will lead to rapid rises of small creeks and streams. Flooding of low-lying areas and roadways is expected. Rock, dirt and mud slides are also likely.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Motherlode and the Sierra Nevada, until 11 AM Friday.
Half a foot to four feet of snow accumulation is likely above 2000 through 4000 feet. Two to five feet of snow is expected above 6000 feet.
Winds of twenty-five to forty mph are expected with gusts up to sixty mph. This could lead to more downed trees and power outages. This will also create difficult driving conditions, especially for small cars and high profile vehicles.
Thunderstorms are also possible this afternoon and evening. Funnel clouds will be possible along with weak tornadoes. These storms will most likely contain a lot of hail mixed with heavy rainfall.
Yet another storm will move into the area late Friday night and Saturday bringing additional snow.
