Holiday Music And Events

Several musical holiday events are in the calendar for today and this weekend.

The 4th Annual Christmas Caroling at Moaning Cavern will feature Summerville High School’s Jazz@8 choir. The event begins tonight at 6pm. For a detailed description of the event visit the event listing here.

At the Bret Harte High School Theater in Angels Camp, Calaveras County’s 5th annual production of “The Nutcracker” will be presented twice on Saturday at 1:00pm and 6:00pm. The Studio 4 Dance Theater presentation includes 50 dancers, new characters and costumes, and fresh choreography. For more details and ticket information see the event listing.

Both Saturday and Sunday Railtown 1897 is featuring the last of the “Santa By Daylight” train rides at the Historic Park in Jamestown. For tickets and more information view the event listing.

The Pine Cone Singers will present “Christmas Wishes, Holiday Dreams”, today at 7:30pm, and Dec. 15th and 16th at 2:00 PM, at the Groveland Evangelical Free Church in Groveland. The program will feature a wide variety of traditional holiday songs, carols, spirituals and some fun arrangements of familiar songs, as well as an audience sing-along. The “Holiday Dancing Darlings and Dogs Dinner Fundraiser” is on Saturday at the Tuolumne Memorial Hall. Doors open at 5pm with performance featuring dancers from Randi Murray Dance Studio, the Connections Academy 7th & 8th grade Choir and the Therapy Dogs of the Sierra at 6pm. Go Geocaching at the Norwegian Gulch Trail starting at 10am at New Melones Lake on Saturday. Rangers have hidden treasures along the Norwegian Gulch trail, participants must bring their own equipment. Then on Sunday Rangers will lead a Winter Landscape Photography Hike at 10 am at Table Mountain. Hike details are in the event listing here.

A Holiday Benefit Concert over at the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall begins at 3pm. Proceeds will benefit Mokelumne Hill, West Point, and Rail Road Flat Schools. For more information or to make a donation view the full event listing.
