An Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory has been issued for Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties through 1:00 PM.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive you vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowng water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road. Turn around, don’t drown.
Additionally, the Winter Storm Warning continues to remain in effect for the Sierra Nevada until 11 PM.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow accumulation is expected at 3000 feet. Four to twenty-four inches of snow is anticipated above 3000 feet.
Winds of five to thirty-five mph are likely with gusts reaching up to sixty mph over the higher terrain.
Drier and warmer weather is expected this weekend.
