The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 6,000 feet from 7 PM tonight through 11 AM Tuesday.
Total snow accumulations of four inches to one foot are expected above the 6,000 foot elevation.
A second storm will arrive Tuesday afternoon.
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the Sierra Nevada above 5,000 feet, from Tuesday afternoon through late Wednesday night.
Total snow accumulations of one to three feet is likely above the 5,000 foot elevation.
Winds could gust as high as sixty-five mph on exposed ridge tops and near the crest of the Sierra.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
