Update: Sims Road Closing For Repairs

Update at 1:30 p.m.: The Tuolumne County Roads division is reporting that Sims Road has reopened. A section from Highway 49 to Highway 120 was closed for storm damage repairs around 9 a.m.  Further details on the road damage is below.

Original post at 8:50 a.m.: Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Roads division is closing Sims Road so that storm related damage can be repaired.

The road was closed for several days due to flooding, and briefly reopened for a period of time yesterday. The new closure is running from Highway 49 to Highway 120. It is unclear how long Sims Road will be closed, according to county officials, but you will need to avoid the area. There is no marked detour in place. We’ll pass along more information as it becomes available.
