Update: Sierra Nevada Winter Weather Advisory

Sponsored by:

A cold winter storm will bring light snow at times over the Sierra Nevada, through this evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 4,000 feet, through 10 PM tonight.

The majority of snow accumulation will be above 4000 feet, but we could see some light accumulation down to 1,500 feet late tonight.

Total snow accumulations of three to eight inches, are expected above the 4,000 foot elevation.

Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times, as breezy winds combine with snowfall.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
