The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for both the Mother Lode and the Northern San Joaquin Valley, effective on Tuesday from 1 AM to 9 AM.
Clear skies, light winds and cold temperatures will allow areas of frost to develop over the region.
Sensitive outdoor plants and early budding trees such as almonds, apricots and peaches are susceptible to the cold, frosty conditions.
Low temperatures will range from the upper twenties to the low thirties.
Expect icy road conditions again in the Mother Lode this evening through Tuesday morning.
Currently, Highway 88 Carson Pass is closed (due to snow) at Peddler Hill. Highway 26 remains closed from east of Glencoe (at Woodhouse Mine Road) to west of West Point (at Deardorff Road) due to last week’s major mudslide.
A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected. Sensitive outdoor plants and budding trees may be killed or damaged if left uncovered.
