A disturbance moving over the Sierra foothills will continue to generate snow showers into the early evening.
Cold air has moved over the area with this system, causing low elevation snow down to many Mother Lode foothill locations.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Mother Lode, until 8 PM this evening.
The Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada will expire at 4 PM this afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada will continue until 8 PM tonight.
Additional snow accumulations will range from one to three inches from 1,500 to 3,000 feet.
Three to five inches of additional snow accumulation is likely above the 3,000 foot elevation.
Wind gusts of fifty mph in the Sierra Nevada will also continue.
A Winter Weather Advisory means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
