Update: Sierra Nevada Winter Weather Advisory
The Winter Weather Advisory issued for the Sierra Nevada, will conclude at 10 AM this morning.
According to the National Weather Service, an additional four to six inches of snow accumulation is likely for elevations above 3,000 feet.
The winds will continue to gust up to as high as eighty mph over the Sierra Crest. The intense wind gusts could cause extensive tree damage.
The cold wind chills, as low as twenty below zero, could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as thirty minutes.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
