Another Sierra Nevada Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service had issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada from 8 PM this evening through 8 AM Monday.

A Pacific storm will spread snow into the mountains of the Sierra Nevada this afternoon into evening with the heaviest snow expected tonight into early Monday morning. Lingering snow showers are forecast for Monday.

Total snow accumulations will range from three to ten inches above the 5,000 foot elevation. Light snow accumulations may occur down to 4,000 feet.

The snow levels will range from 6,000 to 6,500 feet this evening, before lowering to 4,000 to 4,500 feet Monday morning.

Wind gusts up to forty mph are expected over the higher terrain.

There are no currently no restrictions up the winter closure gates on Highways 108, 4, and 120. Highway 88 is open with no restrictions.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
