Roadwork Delays For Mother Lode Motorists

Road work will impact Mother Lode Highways and bring delays to travelers next week.

In Tuolumne County, Caltrans crews will be doing tree work along Highway 120 from Old Priest Grade Road to Yosemite National Park. The trimming will start Monday, August 22 and running through Friday, August 26 from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with flaggers conducting one-way traffic control.

Tree trimming along with paving and drainage work will also cause motorists delays on Highway 108 from Highway 120 to Sonora Pass, with one-way traffic at various sections of the roadway.

Caltrans provided this schedule:

  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-108 from Leisure Drive to Strawberry East for tree work beginning Monday, August 22, 2016, through Friday, August 26, 2016, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-108 from Long Barn to Stoddard Springs Road for paving operations beginning Monday, August 22, 2016, through Friday, August 26, 2016, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
  • The #1 (left) lane on eastbound and westbound SR-108 will close from Stoddard Springs Road to Donnell Rest Area for paving operations beginning Monday, August 22, 2016, through Friday, August 26, 2016, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-108 from Clarks Fork Road to the Sonora Pass for drainage work beginning Monday, August 22, 2016, through Friday, August 26, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

In Calaveras County, Caltrans crews will perform one-way traffic control on Highway 26 from Lower Dorray Road to Ridge Road for shoulder work on Thursday, August 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Then on Wednesday, August 24 from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Deardorff Road they will be conducting utility work on the highway.

Along Highway 12 from Comanche Parkway to Boella Springs there will be drainage work taking place from Tuesday, August 23 through Wednesday, August 24 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

On Highway 4 from the Stanislaus/Calaveras County line to Highway 49 in San Andreas paving operations will slow traffic Monday, August 22 through Friday, August 26 from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m

Motorists should expect 10 minute delays where crews are working on these Mother Lode Highways. Caltrans asks travelers to take alternative routes whenever possible.
