Hot weather but no tripple digits yet, here are events happening the second weekend in June.
Friday evening meet local farmers and crafters at the Angels Camp Certified Farmer’s Market in Utica Park. You will find a range of organic vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers, as well as yard art, organic soaps and lotions, locally-crafted wines, food and music each Friday this summer. In conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day, the Forest Service will host a fish fair at Pinecrest, this Saturday, June 11. Children up to 16-years of age compete for fun and awards and all are welcome to attend. The Fish Fair includes humor and musical entertainment by Bill Roberson, activities such as fishing, casting, and t-shirt printing, plus special appearances by Woodsy Owl, Smokey Bear, and Sammy & Frances Fish. Registered participants can fish for a prize, after visiting specific stations. A free hot dog lunch will be provided. A list of all the festivities are here.
Saturday evening Sonora’s historic downtown invites visitors and locals to enjoy another 2nd Saturday Art Night beginning at 5pm. From Sonora’s newly landscaped Courthouse Park to the Sonora Opera Hall, enjoy performances and visit all the art gallery receptions, shops and restaurants. The full guide is here.
Other Saturday events include a Boy Scouts pancake fundraiser, a Copperopolis Community Center Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast, a big Twain Harte Yard Sale and in Columbia the Church of the 49ers hosts a Yard Sale of Biblical Proportions.

The Salvation Army Bowl a Thon Fundraiser will be held at the Black Oak Casino Family Fun Center. Weekend Excursion Train Rides are still being offered at Railtown 1897 and the local theaters will offer several performances this weekend as detailed here.
