The National Weather Service has issued a Small Stream Flood Advisory for central Calaveras County until 8:30 PM.
At 5:28 PM, a strong thunderstorm was located near Mountain Ranch and San Andreas, moving northwest at fifteen mph.
Winds in excess of thirty mph and half inch hail are possible with this Storm.
Locations impacted include San Andreas, Paloma, Rail Road Flat, Mountain Ranch, Glencoe, Mokelumne Hill and Arnold.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike ten miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may cause Localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
At 5:34 PM Doppler Radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over the Butte Fire burn scar.
Rises to small streams will be likely near the butte fire burn scar.
Rainfall amounts of near half-an-inch have fallen over the past hour.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
