The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada through noon today.
A fast moving weather system is bringing late season snow and gusty winds to the Sierra Nevada.
Snow levels are currently around 4,500 feet.
Total snow accumulations will range from one to two inches above 5,000 feet.
Wind gusts continue to range from forty to fifty mph over the higher terrain.
The main impact includes slick roads, possible travel delays and chain controls.
Light snow showers with generally minor additional accumulations are expected to linger this afternoon and early evening.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
