Stockton, CA – It looks like a light week for Caltrans roadwork in the Mother Lode with cone zones on just two highways.
In the Tuolumne County area along Highway 49 each weekday, drainage work between Moccasin Switchback Road and Bear Valley Point is scheduled to be in place from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on both left and right shoulders. Motorists should anticipate five-minute traffic delays during those times.
Each weekday along Highway 108 Caltrans crews plan crack seal operations between Draper Mine Road and Mono Way from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., which may create ten-minute traffic interruptions.
Crews continue to work on the spring clearing of Highway 108 over Sonora Pass; removing snow, clearing debris, inspecting the roadway and making safety improvements. When work began last week, Caltrans officials stated that the goal was to have the pass open and Kennedy Meadows Road accessible by the end of the month, in time for the beginning of trout season, which opens Saturday, April 30. Pedestrians, bicyclists and other vehicles are asked to refrain from slipping through the closure gates while maintenance crews are working.
