This Saturday is a big day for the Murphys Business Association and their Murphys Irish Day Celebration. They expect good weather and a crowd approaching 15,000 for their 11 a.m. parade with 56 entries this year. The festivities start off with a pancake breakfast, all the details are here. The Main St. festivities will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. with 164 vendors offering fine arts and crafts, home-baked delicacies, Irish themed souvenirs, wine tasting and more. The parade Grand Marshals will be representatives of Calaveras County public safety agencies that worked on the Butte Fire.
Campers and RVs will be arriving tomorrow for the 29th Annual Back Country Horsemen Rendevous at the Calaveras fairgrounds. Throughout the Rendezvous, beginning on Friday, March 18th, there will be competitions, seminars and an art show, with a lot of vendors including breakfast and lunch food vendors. On Saturday from 1pm to 4pm is a Community dance for everyone with a variety of dance music at the Senior center by the Tuolumne Main Sonora Library. The event listing is here.
