January Second Saturday Events

This weekend has a few community events planned, and there are more events planned in the month of January.

The upcoming Saturday is the 2nd Saturday of January and in downtown Sonora starting at 5pm galleries, restaurants, and shops will offer Art, Live Music, Performers and Art Demonstrations. Art Night founder B.Z. Smith says “This is our 65th monthly celebration, we’re now in year number six!”

Earlier in the day Saturday become a trained basic CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) member. This 20 hour basic training class will qualify you to join the Twain Harte area-team. Details about the classes are here.

Copperopolis is offering the “First Taste of the Year” 30th Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser. The Copperopolis Community Center’s volunteers invited 16 wineries and the money raised will benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of the Copperopolis Historic Brick Church & Armory building and support the annual history education town-walk for Copperopolis Elementary School students. Details on ticket prices are here.

On Sunday over in Angels Camp at the Bret Harte High School is the Ovations 2016 Performing Arts Series with Mountain Melody Women’s Chorus. All the details about the songs and times are in their event listing.

You can even support the Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge #65 at their monthly breakfast, always on the second Sunday at the IOOF Hall in downtown La Grange.
