Update: Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Warning

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada until noon on Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, total snow accumulations of four inches to two feet are expected above the 5000 foot level.

Temperatures in the Sierra Nevada range from the lower twenties to around thirty degrees.

Sierra winds of fifteen to forty mph will continue with gusts ranging from fifty to sixty-five mph.

Total rainfall amounts will range from one to two inches in the Mother Lode and a quarter-of-an-inch to one inch in the Central Valley.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and strong wind means severe winter weather conditions are either expected or are occurring. If you must travel, carry chains, blankets and other emergency supplies. Be prepared for lengthy travel times.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least twenty-five mph and/or wind gusts of forty mph or greater are expected.
