Stockton, CA — Caltrans officials says, due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no scheduled construction from Wednesday evening through Sunday.
Ahead of that, motorists should plan again for 15-minute delays on Highway 26 Monday through Wednesday between Happy Valley and Lower Dorray roads, as Caltrans attends to slope repair and cleaning there from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
In the Valley Springs area, round-the-clock highway construction improvements continue Monday and Tuesday on Highway 12 along the shoulder between Pine Street and Cosgrove Creek; similar work is slated on Highway 26 between Nove Way and Highway 12. Neither should impact traffic at this time. A utility crew is scheduled to work on Highway 26 Monday and Tuesday between Main Street and Gill Haven Drive from 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. but the work should not interfere with motorist travel.
Continued utility work on Highway 4 on Monday and Tuesday between Upper Moran Road and the Big Trees State Park entrance may cause five-minute traffic delays from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Plan for two full road closures and perhaps taking alternate routes if not attending one — or both — of two special events that follow the Thanksgiving holiday.
Friday, Nov. 27, in Tuolumne County, Caltrans will close Highway 49/Washington Street for the 32nd Historic Downtown Sonora Christmas Parade, which runs from 5 until 8 p.m.
Then on Saturday, Nov. 28, in Calaveras County it will close Highway 49 from Highway 4 to Murphys Grade Road for Angels Camp’s Annual Holiday Parade, which is scheduled from 4:30 until 7 p.m.
