With two full weeks left before Thanksgiving, all the local theatres are performing and there are many other seasonal events scheduled this weekend.
Several theater events will run all weekend. This Friday November 13th and the rest of the weekend you can catch a performance of James and The Giant Peach: a Children’s Play by Mountain Youth and Community Theatre or, over at Summerville High School catch a performance of Little Shop of Horrors. Tomorrow is also opening night for A Christmas Carol at the Fallon House Theatre in Columbia. Next Thursday, November 19th the audience is invited to stay for a Talkback with the SRT actors. At the Sonora Opera Hall the 6th annual ITSA Film Festival begins Friday and continues through the weekend.
On Saturday is the first-ever Tuolumne tennis tournament series ‘Just Ace It’ and as previously reported here Habitat for Humanity will host Groundbreaking & Educational Home Tours at the Parrotts Ferry Village in Columbia.
Sonora’s 2nd Saturday Art Night Committee invites the community to a musical event by After 8. The event is a Butte Fire Benefit Concert with a cappella choir by Mountain Melody Women’s Chorus. The committee notes the choir director and three choir members lost everything in the Butte Fire. The Sonora Chamber of Commerce’s “Giving Back Fund,” is helping organize the event held at the Red Church. Details are here.
