The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 3500 feet, from 4 PM this afternoon through 4 AM Tuesday.
The heaviest snow is expected between 10 PM Sunday and 10 PM Monday. There is the possibility of isolated thunderstorms on Monday.
Snow levels will start out around 7000 feet this afternoon and lower to near 3500 feet by Monday.
Total snow accumulations will range from four to eight inches above 3500 feet and eight to twelve inches of accumulation above 7000 feet.
Expect snow covered roads and slick travel conditions.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
