Update: Vegetation Fire Near Hogan Dam Contained
Update 11:45am: Cal Fire reports the fire has been contained at around three to five acres. All aircraft have been called off the scene. Ground crews will continue mopping up for the next several hours. What sparked the blaze is under investigation.
Original Post at 11:16am: New Hogan Lake, CA — Firefighters and Columbia aircraft are on the scene of a vegetation fire in Calaveras County near New Hogan Lake.
Cal Fire dispatch says the flames broke out just before 11 a.m. and have burned three acres of grass with the potential to burn five to ten more. The blaze is burning along Hogan Dam Road by the dam and US Army Corps of Engineers building east of Silver Rapids Road. No structures are threatened, according to Cal Fire.
