West of Copperopolis: Highway 4 Hard Closure
Modesto, CA — A two-vehicle accident that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. has Highway 4 closed at Milton Road while PG&E handles a downed pole and live wires.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Modesto Unit, after the accident was cleared, CHP closed the incident from its end and Caltrans was assigned to handle traffic during the hard closure. PG&E indicated to CHP that it estimated repairs would take approximately three hours, which could keep the highway closed well into the 5 0’clock hour.
See below for the map location of the incident, which is located between Farmington and Copperopolis. While repairs are being made, motorists should consider alternate Mother Lode highways, such as 26 or 120/108.
