Update: Sadie Lane Fire Acreage Drops
Mountain Ranch, CA — Cal Fire reports after mapping the Sadie Lane Fire the acreage has decreased, but crews remain on the scene today.
When firefighters first arrived on the scene, around 12:15 p.m. Friday at Sadie Lane near the 6000 block of Doster Road by Hawver Road in Mountain Ranch, the flames had burned two acres and were spreading at a slow rate. Cal Fire reported the brush and grass fire at nine acres around 2:30 p.m. With five engines, two hand crews, two water tenders and a dozier, fire crews were able to put the blaze out just before 4 p.m.
Cal Fire dispatch says crews were able to map the fire once it was contained and this morning determined the actual size of the fire to be a little more than 5 acres. What sparked the blaze remains under investigation. Cal Fire reports crews will be on scene today continuing to mop up and check for hot spots.
