New Details On Hwy 4 Crash

Avery, CA –   The CHP has released the names of those involved in a two-vehicle wreck that had one person airlifted from the scene.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday on the 3300 block of Highway 4 near Red Tail Hawk Drive in Avery.

The CHP reports 21-year-old Will Stine of Forest Meadows was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry westbound on the highway when he turned in front of 51-year-old Joel Barnett of Bear Valley was driving a Toyota Tundra heading eastbound.  Barnett slammed on his brakes, but was unable to stop his truck, which broadsided Stine’s Camry.

Stine was flown to Modesto Memorial suffering moderate injuries. Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
