Sonora, CA — Firefighters are checking a structure on the 70th block of Stewart Street after a passerby reported seeing smoke coming out a building. There are reports of smoke in the building, but so far no word on whether there are any flames.
Sonora Police have blocked off Stewart Street from Bradford to Lyons Streets. Officers are diverting traffic down Jackson and Linoberg Streets. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
Update 3:45 p.m.: Cal fire reports firefighters continue to search the building for any sign of flames, but so far there has only been some smoke. The roadways is still blocked to traffic.
