Twain Harte, CA — The CHP reports that two men have been arrested after leading an officer on a chase that ended in a crash in Tuolumne County this afternoon. The two white males are in their late 20’s and have been arrested for not only evading deputies, but also on drugs and weapons charges.
The incident began around 1:20 p.m. on Highway 108. The CHP reports an officer tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver took off and reached speed of over 80 mph by Soulsbyville, heading towards Twain Harte. The vehicle then turned off the highway on to Twain Harte Drive as the officer was in hot pursuit. The vehicle crashed near Hillcrest Road just before the Twain Harte Golf Course when the driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway down a hill and crashed.
There were no injuries in the wreck. The CHP says both men have been booked into the Tuolumne County jail on several felony charges. The men’s names are not being released nor are the exact charges they are facing.
