Twain Harte, CA — The CHP is on the scene of a solo vehicle crash in Twain Harte, which began after the driver led an officer on a high-speed chase.
The CHP reports an officer tried to pull over the vehicle with at least two people inside at around 1:20 p.m. on Highway 108. The driver took off and reached speed of over 80 mph by Soulsbyville heading towards Twain Harte.
The CHP reports the vehicle turned off the highway on to Twain Harte Drive as the officer pursued. Near Hillcrest Road, just before the Twain Harte Golf Course, the driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway down a hill and crashed. An ambulance has been called to the scene, but there is no word on any injuries. We will have more information as soon as it comes into the News Center.
Update 3 p.m.: The CHP is still investigating the incident and has no word on why the driver ran from the officer.
