Vegetation Fire Contained

West Point, CA — Firefighters made quick work of a vegetation fire near West Point. The flames broke out just after 2:30 p.m. on John Eaph Trail near Smitty Lane. Cal Fire reports one power line came down at the scene, but there is no word on whether it was energized. Cal Fire spokesperson Lisa Williams says, “We still have resources on the scene checking it, but there is no more fire in the area.”
Williams says that whether the power line sparked the fire is still under investigation. Cal Fire reports when crews arrived on the scene residents were working to put out the flames. PG&E has been called to the scene to repair the line.
