The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 4500 feet for snow, which is in effect until 10 PM this evening.
Rain and snow ahead of a frontal system along the California Coast will continue over the Sierra Nevada today. The front will move inland and weaken later tonight and the precipitation will taper off to lighter showers.
Snow accumulations of three to seven inches is expected.
Wind gusts may reach up to thirty mph.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
