San Andreas, CA — A power outage in San Andreas has left thousands without electricity. Cal Fire reports an electric transformer exploded bringing down live power lines on Russell Road by Market Street off Highway 49. That sparked three small vegetation fires on Russell Road, which firefighters extinguished within minutes.
PG&E reports more than 2880 customers are without power. A crew is heading to the scene, PG&E estimates the repair time to be 1:45 this afternoon. A section of Russell Road is closed due to the live downed lines so motorist will want to avoid the area. We will bring you more details as soon as they are available.
Update 11:45 a.m.: A PG&E crew is now on scene and working on repairs.
