Oakhurst, CA — A 320 acre vegetation fire in in Oakhurst south of Yosemite National Park has forced hundreds of people to evacuate their homes.
The flames broke out Sunday afternoon on Courtney Lane and Seven Hills Rd near Bass Lake in Madera County near Highway 49 & 41. Sheriff’s Officials report nearly 1,000 residents were evacuated from 400 homes. Cal Fire reports 21 structures have been damaged or destroyed, including 10 homes that are a total loss.
The fire is 20 percent contained at this time.
Update; 10 am: Cal Fire is now titling this blaze the “Courtney Fire”.
