Paint Road Vegetation Fire

Calaveras County, CA — Air and ground resources are on scene of a vegetation fire in Calaveras County.

CAL Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams reports that it is in the 3000 block of Paint Road, between Angels Camp and Copperopolis. The fire is 4-5 acres, and one outbuilding is threatened. Paint Road is currently closed due the amount of fire equipment arriving on scene.

There are power lines down in the area, so PG&E officials are also responding. It is not immediately clear what sparked the fire.

Update 1 pm: Cal Fire reports there is still no containment on the blaze, but crews are making progress on the flames.
