Mountain Ranch, CA — Firefighters and the Columbia air unit are heading to a vegetation fire in Calaveras County. The flames are in the 11-thousand block of Whiskey Slide Road in the Mountain Ranch area. There is no word on size, rate of spread or if any structures are threatened at this time. Update 1:42 p.m.: Cal Fire reports an eighth of an acre is buring. Spokesperson Lisa Westbrooke says, “Some resources have been called off so that is a good sign.”
Update 1:50 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the fire is contained. No structures were threatened.
