A Weekend Of Events After The New Year
After the celebration of New Year’s Day Tuesday night and Wednesday, there are only a few events this weekend in the Mother Lode.
One event will be the 17th annual Polar Bear Run at noon on Saturday in Jamestown. It offers bikers (motorcyclists) a 1 to 2 hour ride through the Sierra Foothills and lunch. The event raises money for local charities. More details are available in the event listing here.
The Angels Camp Museum continues its “Rock the New Year Tours”. Guided tours of the museum’s collection of wagons and carriages will be offered by history educators. Visitors can view two steam traction engines and exhibits highlighting mining equipment and a working model of a famous stamp mill. Admission costs and more information in the event listing here.
The free Softball Clinic by Sierra College begins in the Summerville High Gym Saturday morning. It is a free coaches and players clinic. Details are in the event calendar listing.
