Jamestown, CA – Motorists may want to avoid Highway 49 in Jamestown next week as Caltrans will be doing roadwork that will slow down travel. The roadway will be down to one-way traffic from Bell Mooney Road near Woods Creek to Harvard Mine Road as crews do grinding and paving. Also, the right and left turn lanes on the highway will be closed.
Crews will begin work on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 25 from 4:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Motorists can expect 15 minute delays.
Caltrans Spokesperson Angela Daprato says, “We realize this is a busy area so we just ask that motorists be patient and use alternative routes whenever possible. If they could avoid going to the area this week or at least not until after one o’clock, we ask them to do so.”
