A nearly two-hour chase of a stolen truck has come to an end near Lawndale.
Police say the pursuit began at around 5:15 yesterday afternoon when officers spotted the truck just west of downtown LA. It had been reported stolen from a rental company yesterday.
The driver led police through South Los Angeles then west on Gage Avenue where officers placed a spike strip under the right rear wheels.
It´s not clear if either tire was punctured. But the chase continued through Bell. The driver then got onto the westbound San Bernardino Freeway and finally to the southbound 405 Freeway where the truck came to a stop shortly before 7 pm.
The driver was taken into custody without incident. His name has not yet been released.
