San Jose Team Sledding For Salt Lake

It´s Salt Lake City or bust for two San Jose men who hope to represent Armenia in the Olympic 2-man bobsled event.

They´ll get a chance to hurtle down bobsled runs with other Olympic hopefuls this weekend at New York´s Lake Placid.

Dan Janjigian is the sled´s driver and owns a Web site design company. He´s spent four years and thousands of dollars learning the ways of the bobsled. He holds dual citizenship

in both the U-S and Armenia and hopes to represent his ancestral

homeland.

To do so, he recruited his friend Yorgo Alexandrou to be his brakeman. Alexandrou would have to apply for Armenian citizenship if the team qualifies so he can represent the country.

The two practice with a 400-pound bobsled outfitted with in-line skates on a quiet, flat San Jose street.
