Storm Made Driving In Bay Area A Headache Too

More than two inches of rain fell today in San Francisco causing flooding on major roadways and bad traffic tie ups.

It´s the season´s first major storm.

Water pooled on Highway 101 south of San Francisco. Several accidents caused severe backups on that major artery. Public transportation-users weren´t spared the headaches. Flooding on a platform temporarily closed the Civic Center BART station in downtown San Francisco this morning.

Incoming and outgoing flights at San Francisco International Airport experienced delays of up to a half-hour. The storm is expected to clear fully by midday tomorrow.
