Doughnut Shop Guard Hailed As Hero

Police are calling a Krispy Kreme security guard a hero.

Aaron Ethols, a former police officer, works as a guard at the Los Angeles Crenshaw district doughnut shop.

Ethols shot and killed a man who attacked a female worker with an ice pick early Friday. The motive is unknown. But police say the attacker, 26-year-old Eugene Lamar Addison, was the woman´s former boyfriend.

The 22-year-old woman was treated at a local hospital and released.

Investigators say the shooting was justified, but it´s up to the district attorney´s office to decide.
