San Jose police continue their search today for a suspect in the shooting death of a fellow officer. The 24-year-old officer´s name was not released. He was killed early this morning near the Almaden Expressway.
KCBS says residents called to report an officer on the ground near his patrol car. Police say the officer never called for help. He was working his regular beat and had been with the force just over a year.
Police Chief William Lansdowne says the investigation into the slaying is still at its preliminary stages, but it appears the officers had stopped a vehicle in the area and was shot while approaching.
