A temporary repair to the damaged water flume system in Calaveras County may be finished by the end of
the week. The Overland Pipe project, which will bypass the destroyed portion of the wooden flume that supplies residents of Murphys, Angels Camp and
surrounding communities has been in progress since last month.
Officials ask that residents continue strong water conservation measures for at least 20
days after the temporary fix is made so water storage capacity can recover. The wooden flume is expected to take six months to be fully repaired. It was
destroyed during the Darby Fire.
