Sharpshooter Hits San Jose

An insect carrying a disease that threatens California´s 33 billion dollar wine industry has been found in
South San Jose. State agriculture officials confirmed Friday that they found a small glassy-winged sharpshooter infestation. The bug

carries Pierce´s
disease, an illness that kills grapevines by interfering with their ability to absorb moisture and nutrients.
