Gunfire erupted at a high school in El Cajon near San Diego this afternoon. Witnesses say a suspect, armed
with a handgun and a rifle, was wrestled to the ground by police after the shooting took place at Granite Hills High School.
Officials at Sharp Memorial
Hospital say two of the nine wounded patients brought in have shotgun pellet wounds. They don´t appear to be life threatening. One of the patients is believed
to be the shooter. He is now in surgery after being shot by police. The other seven were injured by falls or broken glass.
Officers are also searching for
a possible second suspect.
Granite Hills High School is just a few miles from the high school in Santee where two students were killed in a shooting
perpetrated by 15 year old student Andy Williams nearly a month ago.
